Date of Birth: 30.3.66 Marital Status: Single Nationality: British TRAINING/EXPERIENCE I have painted since childhood graduating from watercolours and other media’s to oil paintings in my early teenage years. I am, intentionally, entirely self taught, wishing from an early age to develop my own style without too many outside influences. As a result of this, I have no academic qualifications appertaining to art preferring to develop my own style privately,whilst studying economics, business studies and accountancy at further education and university. BACKGROUND I was born in Southport, Merseyside and moved to Dorset with my family in 1980.Whilst continuing to develop my art and before turning to art professionally, I have worked in sales,travel, accountancy and music. INFLUENCES The first great influence on my painting came from my parents who encouraged me from an early age. My art teachers continued this encouragement however when I moved to Dorset I chose to discontinue formal art studies, preferring to develop my own style largely as a result of my private studies of the History of Art. I have always been receptive to feedback on my work from various art galleries in the south of England and also from friends and family. Partly as a result of this together with a love for natural beauty, I am concentrating on flowers as the main subject of my current work. Other areas I have focussed on include wildlife and portraiture.
