Adam Barsby
Biography
Born in Leicester in 1969 Adam showed an early artistic talent which would eventually lead him to graduate from Kent Institute of Art and Design in Maidstone with a First Class Honours Degree. Following graduation in 1992 Adam worked on several freelance projects for Art Galleries and magazines while developing his own style of work. In 1996 Adam decided to commit himself to painting on a full time basis. His confidence was soon to be rewarded by invitations to exhibit at many prestigious galleries throughout the U.K. and the highly successful launch of his range of limited editions and original silkscreens. Adam draws his inspiration from many sources, oceans and coastlines being particularly appealing due to their romantic nature. His unique view of the world, his simple stylised images using rich colours, texture and thought provoking images have taken the art world by storm. Adam’s first major London Exhibition was held at Harrods Picture Gallery in June 1998. Enjoyed by a large number of specially invited guests the show was a resounding success. An artist whose star is very much in the ascendant, Adams unique style has fired the imagination of collectors from around the world. With further shows planned and silkscreens available, the future does indeed look very exciting for this talented artist who has already been awarded the John Solomon Trophy for Best Selling Artist and the prestigious Best Up and Coming Artist Award from the Fine Art Trade Guild.
